The Botanical Gardens Puerto Vallarta
The garden is about a 35 to 40 minute drive from downtown old Puerto Vallarta.
It is a great place to visit with you dog. There is a cost for you dog as well as yourself.
Humans = $200 pesos Dogs = $50 pesos.
All dogs must be kept on a leash and of course, pick-up after your dog.

Map of Botanical Garden Trails
This is one of the most “natural” botanical gardens I have seen.
Many botanical gardens are enclosed in a glass building with wide sidewalks for easy access.
These gardens are set in the Sierra Madre Mountains south of Puerto Vallarta.
The garden areas are surrounded by the jungle.
The unpaved paths lead you through the jungle; down, up and around the mountain.
There is even a swing bridge! In the jungle is a clear water river you can access and swim in.
There are a few areas that are easily accessible for strollers or wheelchairs.
The Vallarta Conservatory of Mexican Orchids, the ponds and the Flag Trail in front of the restaurant and gift shop.
I highly recommend signing up for the walking tour to get the most out of your visit.
What to bring for you and your dog
Mascot
Wear good walking shoes or boots. Bring bug repellent and sunscreen.
Portable bowl and water to drink for you and your dog.
Bring a swimsuit and towel if you want to swim in the river.
Be sure to check your dog for any ticks, thorns or leaves stuck to their coat before you head home.
Restaurant with jungle views
is a delightful restaurant on site call Hacienda de Oro.
The menu includes authentic Mexican cuisine with some of the herbs and plants growing in the garden.
