The Revolution House – An Airbnb in Campeche
This is my review of the pet friendly Airbnb we stayed in called “The Revolution House“.
CAMPECHE is only a 3-hour drive from the town of Mérida.
It is a lovely colonial beach town that sits on the Gulf of Mexico in the Yucatan peninsula.
The town of Campeche is pet-friendly.
It is easy to take your dogs to the restaurants, especially since most places have outdoor dining.
Campeche’s historic area is surrounded by a massive wall that was completed in 1704. It was to keep the invading pirates out and protect the towns people.
Today, the charming city has grown beyond the walls.
This Airbnb called “The Revolution House” is located inside the wall boundaries in the beautiful historical center.
This Airbnb only offers street parking. No garage. Our car was safe and we had no issues leaving it on the street.
The Revolution House is a spacious two bedroom, two bath home with air conditioning in the bedrooms and fans throughout.
The kitchen is small, but adequate for making coffee and snacks. With so many restaurants within walking distance – there is no need to cook!
Less than a 5 minute walk is a conveniently located small park with green space for the dogs.
There are shops and restaurants near the Airbnb which are easy to walk to.
The Malecon (boardwalk area) is quick 10 minute walk.
The Malecon is a nice walking path that hugs the shoreline.
Campeche offers museums with pirate artifacts, two forts that are open to the public, many handicraft shops, night clubs and restaurants.
We went to Campeche in December. The town was all decked out for Christmas. In the evenings the large fountains on the Malecon offer a musical light show reminiscent to a Disneyland style performance.
